Start with what you know

What are you building?

Count every model call in a task, including tool loops and retries. Repeated instructions are candidates for prefix caching.
Published standard text rates ↗ · Rates are editable.

Monthly text-token volume

Everything sent: instructions, history, documents and tool results.
Include billed reasoning and every model call, not just visible replies.
Comparable text-model charges only. Exclude subscriptions, tools and media. Blank uses published token rates.
Adjust API prices USD / 1M tokens

Defaults are standard, uncached text prices. Enter blended rates from your invoice to include cache reads, cache writes, batch pricing or negotiated discounts. Long-context and regional premiums are not added automatically.

A cost comparison is not a quality equivalence. Test the candidate on your actual tasks before switching. Different tokenizers can produce different token counts for the same text.

Explore GPU economics Optional · advanced

Compare a rented GPU with token billing. Hardware prices are third-party examples; throughput values are illustrative inputs, not model benchmarks or Yamify offers.

Runpod on-demand Pod examples ↗ · Verify region and cloud tier. Selecting a GPU changes price and VRAM, not assumed speed.
Memory estimate only. Precision never applies an automatic speed multiplier.
Aggregate input throughput for your exact model and traffic.
Aggregate generated-token throughput, not single-user speed.
Fraction of billed time doing useful token work. Lower utilization increases required billed GPU hours.
Optimistic job-based scenario. Stops between jobs must actually work; cold starts and minimum billing may add cost.
Add storage, egress, CPU, monitoring and other known costs. Defaults to $0; operations and support are not automatically priced.

Calculations run in your browser. No prompts, files or API keys needed. Your numbers are included in a WhatsApp draft only when you choose the early-access link; you decide whether to send it.

API: input millions × input price + output millions × output price.

GPU work: (input tokens ÷ prefill tokens/s + output tokens ÷ decode tokens/s) ÷ 3,600 ÷ useful utilization. Prefill and decode are added as a simple planning approximation, not a serving simulator.

On-demand bills the estimated work. Scheduled and always-on modes bill the entire paid window × GPU replicas. Monthly extras are added once.

Memory: total parameters × weight bits ÷ 8, plus an illustrative 8 GiB serving allowance. Long contexts, KV cache, architecture and serving engine can need more. Each replica must fit independently.

No automatic caching, batching or speculative-decoding discount is applied. Enter measured throughput or effective prices to model those changes.

03

Know what changes the answer

Cheaper tokens are only part of it.

01 / API vs GPU

Idle time has a price.

Token APIs charge for usage. A dedicated GPU charges for the hours you keep it running. Low or uneven traffic can make a token API the better deal.

02 / Useful work

Count completed tasks.

Agents may make many model calls for one answer. Include retries and reasoning tokens, then measure cost per successful task alongside accuracy and latency.

03 / Caching & batching

Measure, then optimize.

Stable prompt prefixes can reuse computation. Batching can improve throughput. Neither guarantees a lower bill or reduces the logical token count by itself.

Sources & assumptions

Provider and GPU examples checked 2026-10-23. Prices can change; verify the linked source before buying. Model rates use one text-token volume for comparison, though tokenizers differ. Tools, embeddings, media, taxes, currency conversion and long-context premiums are excluded unless you account for them yourself.
